On the darkest of nights, a single lamp turns a doorway into a safe, inviting haven. Ê It is a guardian, keeping away monsters, bogeymen, and all those things that go bump in the night.Ê And that is what I wanted, a painting about that friendliest of home guardians.Ê And, the gargoyle? Itâs just a statue basking in the warm light of that friendly lamp.
