The dragon is like the falcon, strong and soaring.Ê It represents strength, honor, freedom, and a rather fierce, fighting spirit.Ê In making this piece, I wanted to bring out the sinuous qualities, as though we are seeing a living creature.Ê I rather like it.
This piece won first place in the San Mateo County Fair, something that pleased me quite a bit.Ê It also worried me, because I didn't know if I could do it again.Ê To have qualities that people can appreciate, admire, and respect, a work of art must express the spirit of its creator.Ê And that takes inspiration, work, and a good understanding of the craft.Ê I think I finally have achieved the third.Ê Now, I'm ready for some inspiration.Ê Music, anyone?
